Resurrection Realities

Easter matters because Jesus Christ lived, died and bodily rose again to forgive our sins and give us eternal life.  The historical evidence has been repeatedly substantiated and therefore cannot be ignored or denied when it comes to experiencing life as it was meant to be.

16 Words to Experience Ultimate Life

I Need Help – The first three words express the real need of every person’s heart. The truth according to God is that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). We are deeply flawed by sins that we have personally chosen to commit against the God who made us to love, honor and obey Him.

I Can’t Help Myself – The next four words admit our total inability to change our own sinful condition. No amount of will power, personal refinement or positive mental attitude can change our helpless condition before God. The Bible says that we are spiritually “dead in our trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2:1) and “unable to please God” (Romans 8:8). We need outside help.

Jesus Came to Help – These four words announce God’s radical solution to our helpless condition. “God demonstrated His own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). God’s only Son is the only solution to our guiltiness before God. While He sacrificed His perfect life on the cross for our sins, He also rose from the dead to prove He is the Lord of all (Romans 14:9). Jesus Christ becomes the only way to receive the forgiveness we need John 14:6, Acts 4:12).

I Must Receive His Help – The final five words present our response to God’s offer of eternal life and forgiveness. Salvation is a “free gift of eternal life” (Romans 6:23) and is received by trusting in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9) and repenting of our sins (Acts 3:19). “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13). “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” (Romans 10:9).

“Lord Jesus, I recognize I am sinful and cannot save myself. I want to turn from my sin and accept your free gift of eternal life. I confess you as Lord and Savior. Amen.”
