Funeral reception volunteers show compassion to the church and community by being available during funeral receptions for conversation with family members, and helping and serving during and after the reception.

TIP: When talking to people newly grieved never say “I know just how your feel” No two people are alike. No one exactly knows how another may be feeling or thinking, only God knows exactly how he/she feels. Recognize your inadequacy to fully identify, then point them to the One who does know exactly how they feel. Remind them that God cares.
