DIENER, Bud & Teresa

Bud & Teresa Diener
Since 1981, Pastor Bud Diener has served in pastoral leadership and church planting ministry in NW Washington. He, along with his wife Teresa and 3 of his five children (Josiah, Thomas and Luke) relocated to Pietermaritzburg (~45 miles northwest of Durban), South Africa in 2007 in response to a great need among the many untrained pastors who are hungry for spiritual training. A ferocious spiritual battle is being fought in South Africa. It is a battle that has the face of Christianity, but in reality is a mix of animism, ancestor worship and orthodox Christianity. People come to Christ but do not leave their other religions behind. The pastors from the most impoverished rural areas have no biblical training and do not know how to teach people from the
Bible. Many of these pastors still consult witch doctors. In many churches, pagan ceremonies are often incorporated as part of the worship service. For the most part, these rural pastors have no access to Biblical training. They cannot afford the tuition, they cannot afford transportation, and they cannot afford the time away from their jobs (if they have one) to study. The mission of Matters of Truth is to eternally impact Southern Africa by faithfully, accurately, and boldly teaching
the truth of God’s Word (John 17:17). Through annual pastor’s conferences, on the road trainings, and one-on-one discipling, Bud’s vision is to not only teach the Word of God, but to train pastors and laymen in how to study and interpret it so that they will be equipped to teach faithful men and women who will in turn teach others (2 Timothy 2:2). It is also his vision to show them the practical impact of God’s Word on the way they think and live their daily lives (Ezra 7:10). The meeds are immense. The opportunities are many, the blessings are innumerable, and the impact is eternal!
In 2010, they relocating to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal (province), South Africa.

Note: Bud writes - We live in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Dorpspruit is the name of the post office where we have our PO Box. In SA each post office is given a name that is not necessarily related to the area. That address is the best place for people to send things. If people choose to send things, it is best to follow two simple guidelines: (1) the box should be no bigger than a shoebox, and (2) do not insure the contents of the package. If the package is larger than a shoebox, it will cost us too much in custom’s fees…if it is insured, the postal workers will steal it because they will consider the contents valuable and they assume that the insurance will cover the cost of the item.
