Birth - August 13, 1962
Marriage and Family - I was in Tacoma, and raised in Federal Way with 3 sisters, and graduated from Federal Way High School in 1980. I married Mike Ziccarelli in 1991. We have 3 children: Breanna is 25 and a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force, currently undergoing Pilot training in Columbus, MS; Amanda is 23 and works as a Project Manager for a steel company in Tacoma, and Michael is 21 and is a Senior studying Engineering at George Fox University in Newberg, OR.
Personal Testimony: My early years were happy ones, growing up in Federal Way in the 1960’s. My dad was an engineer at The Boeing Co. and my mom a stay at home mom. Our dad left our family when I was 8 years old and mom had to get a job. She didn’t have work experience so took a job working 2nd shift as a server at a local restaurant. In what seemed a very short time, I became a ‘latch key kid’. With a lot of free time on my hands, no parental guidance and much confusion about divorce, it didn’t take long for me to find the wrong crowd. After graduating from high school, I continued to make bad choices with friends and partying. While celebrating my 25th birthday a friend overdosed. This was extremely scary and at that point I realized if I continued on the current path, I would soon be in prison or dead. I went to treatment and changed my habits and life. I met Mike two years later and we were soon married and hoping to start a family. Within a fairly short period of time, I experienced six miscarriages. Although I did not know God or have a relationship with him, I truly believed God was telling me I did not deserve a family (because of my past) and would be an incompetent unfit mother. When I was 6 months pregnant with Breanna, I met a lovely Christian woman (in Jury Duty pool) who shared the gospel with me. I had never heard the gospel or seen it lived out in such a loving way. Her family opened up her home and we began attending church. Her whole family loved on Mike and I throughout the remaining pregnancy. After Breanna was born, I could not deny God’s grace and mercy and I accepted Christ into my heart and was baptized shortly after. God has continued to bless our family as we homeschooled and raised our kids in the church. We have been members of Christ’s Church since 2003 when Mike became a Christian through CCFW Biblical Counseling.
Ministry Position & Passions: I have a heart for the elderly (my grandma was a special lady). The kids & I visited the nursing home (under Marie Doughty’s leadership) for years and I have volunteered with youth mission/ministry as well as Women’s Ministry. I am so excited to work alongside the church and Life Groups as we reach out to serve and love on the lost and needy in the Federal Way area.
