My Top Ten Life Centering Truths

What truths center and guide your life the most? For me, there are many, but if I had to reduce it to the ten most dynamic passages of scriptural truths, it would be these. They keep me motivated and focused.

  1. Isaiah 45:22: “Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God and there is no other.” (God exists as the only true and living God.)

  2. Romans 11:36: “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.” (God is the Maker of everything and deserves all worship and honor.)

  3. Psalm 103:19: “The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all.” (God reigns over all and has everything under control.)

  4. Romans 3:10–12: “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one.” (I am a guilty sinner who is unable to do any good.)

  5. 2 Corinthians 5:21: “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (Jesus Christ took my sin, which He didn’t deserve, so I could take His righteousness which I didn’t deserve.)

  6. Ephesians 1:3: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.” (Christ gave me every resource I need to live a life pleasing to Him.)

  7. Romans 8:28–29: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son.” (I am reassured that God is orchestrating every detail of my life for my greater good in becoming more like His Son, Jesus Christ.)

  8. 1 Thessalonians 5:24: “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” (God can be trusted in every aspect of life because He is trustworthy.)

  9. 1 Cor. 15:57–58: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore...be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” (God has already won the victory, so I can serve Him with all my heart and know it will make an eternal difference.)

  10. Revelation 22:13: “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.” (The Lord is coming again, so I can live a life of readiness.)

How about you? What truths has the Lord used in your life to keep you living for Him?
