The Sufficiency of Scripture
June 18, 2012 by Heath Lambert

“I have the wonderful privilege and incredible honor of being an assistant professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and their undergraduate institution Boyce College. I have been teaching biblical counseling there since 2006.

In my ministry as a professor I interact with all manner of students. I teach classes at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral level. I teach students majoring in counseling and students in other majors required to take biblical counseling courses to graduate. I teach college students as young as 18 with no ministry experience, and am supervising several doctoral students who have been in ministry longer than I’ve been alive. There are men who want to be pastors and missionaries, and women who want to be stay-at-home-moms and staff counselors at large churches. The tie that unites all of these individuals is their desire to grow in the ability to minister the Word of God to people who need the kind of intentional and focused help that only counseling ministry can provide.”
