Jesus Christ — One of a Kind
This Sunday, we will begin a new series of messages that could be one of the best we have ever done. Why? It is on the Gospel of John which uniquely shares the Person and work of our Lord and Savior like no other book. 90-92% of the material in the gospel is unique and not found in the other gospel accounts of Matthew, Mark, or Luke.
If our goal in life is to become more like Christ, and it is, then this study can be monumental in our lives. Not only do we need to grow in our love for Christ, but the number one need in every person’s life is a saving relationship with Him.
Three years ago, I concluded one of my messages with the following words that I hope will inspire and encourage you to find all that you truly need in Christ.
Without Christ, no one can be truly forgiven, fully loved, ultimately satisfied, totally complete, entirely reconciled, genuinely alive, or experiencing eternal life.
Are you lost? He is the “way.”
Are you lonely? He is "with you always even to the end of the age."
Need direction? He is "the light of the world."
Need hope? He is the "resurrection and the life."
Are you confused? He is “the truth."
Are you in turmoil and conflicted? He is the “Prince of Peace.”
Are you in bondage? He can "set you free.”
Are you grieving? He is a perfect "Comforter."
Peter said it best, "To whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Think about it. Jesus Christ knows the worst about you, yet no one will ever love you greater.
Christianity doesn’t offer a second chance to succeed. It offers a second Adam to be eternally saved.
He is far better at saving than you are at sinning.
He is far better at winning than you are at losing.
He is far better at healing than you are at hurting.
He is far better at blessing than you are at cursing.
He is far better at leading than you are at following.
He is far better at finding than you are at seeking.
He is far better at securing than you are at persevering.
He is far better at forgiving than you are at resenting.
He is far better at loving than you are at receiving.
Jesus never tires of forgiving those who are tired of sinning. One of the many life-changing words He spoke were these: “Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
I can’t wait to examine the life and ministry of our Lord and Savior in the gospel of John with our church family.
