Pray for Your Country
n light of the growing animosity and frustration we see boiling over in our streets these days, I was reminded of how important it is for us to pray. As you know, God has instructed us in 1 Timothy 2:1–2 to do the following: “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Thank God for Creating Angels
Did you thank God today for creating angels? I hope you did. Angels are “ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation” (Heb. 1:14). Even as you read this article, an innumerable host of unseen servants are responding to God-given directives to serve us. It’s not something we often verbalize gratitude for, but it is a reality in every believer’s life. Let’s take a moment to remind ourselves of two essential truths about God’s ministering spirits:
